Search Mitchell County Court Docket

A Mitchell County court docket records the filings, settings, and rulings that move a Texas case through court. To search the Mitchell County court docket, first identify the court level, then use the statewide search or contact the clerk that keeps the file. Mitchell County docket access is split among district, county, justice, and municipal courts. An online result may show case details without every document. The responsible clerk remains the source for a certified copy, an older file, or a public record that has not reached an online system.

Mitchell County Docket Custody

Mitchell County runs a split-clerk system, and the courthouse at 349 Oak Street maps it out room by room. County Clerk records sit in Room 103. District Clerk records sit in Room 302. The two JP groupings use Rooms 100 and 101. Asking for "the county clerk" can misfire. Texas district records do not move to that office just because the courthouse stands in Mitchell County. The official Mitchell County gateway gathers several separate tools, and each one covers a different court-record need rather than serving as a single docket dashboard.

Court Dockets: What They Show

Think of a docket as the procedural index to a case. It can show the assigned court, parties, attorneys, filings, hearings, and orders. A disposition shows when those fields are filled in. It is not the whole case file. A one-line entry saying an order was entered does not reproduce the signed order. A portal link is not a certified copy either.

Cause numberThe court-assigned identifier. No Mitchell-specific public format was verified, so enter it exactly as shown.
Case styleThe caption or description that identifies the parties or matter.
Court and typeThe tribunal and category that determine which clerk keeps the file.
Filings and eventsThe dated history of petitions, motions, notices, returns, orders, and other actions.
HearingsAvailable setting date, time, type, and location information supplied by the court feed.
DispositionThe outcome or closing action, which should be checked against the signed judgment or order.

Financial and bond fields are not guaranteed either. Mitchell County publishes no local docket-code legend, so confirm any common abbreviation with the clerk before treating it as an official local term.

Mitchell County re:SearchTX Fields

The official re:SearchTX guide walks through both quick and advanced searches. Advanced controls cover party first and last name, attorney, judge, case number, case style or description, location, category, and type. Wildcard searching helps with tricky names. Apply and Next 10 manage the filters. Case Details can pull up parties, attorneys or judicial officers, filings or documents, hearings, a summary, saved cases, and alerts. Those appear where the functions exist. What you see still depends on what the court filed.

OCA reported a November 2025 target for clerk integration. A target is not arrival. It does not prove that every Mitchell County docket, old file, criminal document, municipal case, or JP citation is now online. When coverage is uncertain, use the clerk fallback.

Mitchell County Courts and Their Dockets

Felony, major civil, family, and other district matters all run through the 32nd District Court. The Mitchell County Court handles county-level matters. Statute sets its assignment list. The 1st Multicounty Court at Law serves Fisher, Mitchell, and Nolan counties. The District Clerk keeps its concurrent district matters, while the County Clerk keeps its other cases. Justice courts handle small claims, evictions, debt claims, citations, and other limited jurisdiction. Municipal courts take Class C and ordinance cases.

An ordinary Mitchell County trial appeal lands at the Eleventh Court of Appeals in Eastland. The appeal gets its own cause number. Meanwhile, the local trial clerk keeps the trial-level file.

eDoc Is Not Every Docket

The County Clerk-linked Mitchell eDoc portal works well as a records and copy channel. Its menu offers Official Public Records Document, Party, and Advanced Search, plus Civil Court Records, Probate Records, Old Deeds Records, and vital-record categories. Access runs around the clock, and account registration is free. Purchased items download immediately. The download window lasts 30 days. Read the menu labels as the boundary of what the portal covers. An OPR party search is not a civil case docket. Old Deeds is not proof of digitized court cases. Nothing on the landing page promises all District Court, criminal, JP, or municipal records. Save any purchased item and its receipt right away. If the Mitchell County docket or filing you need is missing, call the custodian.

Three separate products: Docket metadata summarizes case events, a document image reproduces one filing, and a certified copy carries the clerk's authentication.

Court Dates and Settings in Mitchell County

Start with re:SearchTX Hearings or the available setting entry. Then confirm with the court. A listing can shift through a reset, continuance, cancellation, transfer, or new order. Read the newest notice before assuming the first date stands. For a district setting, the 32nd District Court coordinator sits in Sweetwater at (325) 235-3133. The multicounty court at law contact is also in Sweetwater, at (325) 235-2353. That location surprises plenty of Mitchell County searchers. The District Clerk's record counter stays in Colorado City. A Sweetwater coordinator can control or confirm the district setting. Records custody and calendar coordination are not the same office. A fuller settings workflow lives in the Mitchell County Court Schedule. Confirm before traveling. Check the date, time, setting type, and courtroom. Also check for any reset.

Mitchell County Calendar Limits

Mitchell County posts an event calendar. Views cover Day, Week, Month, and Agenda. Entries fall under General, Closure, Commissioners Court, and Library categories. It covers county happenings, not court business. No case number, party, judge, courtroom, or hearing type is guaranteed there. A meeting entry will never replace a trial setting in Mitchell County.

The Closure category deserves a glance, though. A courthouse closure can shut the counter even without touching a judicial setting. When a closing lands on a filing deadline or a hearing date, call the court or clerk for instructions. A reset cannot be inferred from a public-event calendar. The docket sheet, the setting notice, or direct confirmation from the court controls.

Mitchell County publishes no printed daily court calendar. Ask the court itself about a courtroom list. It may offer another same-day confirmation method for hearings.

Docket Access Under Texas Law

Judicial records in Texas do not travel the same road as executive-agency records. Case records answer to common law, statutes, court rules, and court orders. The OCA open-records policy sets that rule. Start with the clerk who keeps the case. Ask for the public portion. Name the exact docket sheet, judgment, order, or filing you need.

Key access rules:

Texas Rule of Judicial Administration 12 promotes access to judicial administrative records while preserving stated limits.

Texas Government Code Chapter 552 recognizes that judiciary access follows Supreme Court rules and applicable law.

Texas Family Code Chapter 58 restricts juvenile records to authorized people or court-approved access.

Texas local rules and standing orders provide court-specific procedure when one applies.

A sealed docket may vanish from a name search. Or it may show only limited data. Personal identifiers can be redacted too. A clerk can explain the access route, but no clerk can override a statute or sealing order.

Missing Mitchell County Dockets

A blank search result proves nothing about whether a case exists. Strip the optional filters. Fix the spelling and add the right location. Then try the exact cause number. Next figure out the court level: district, county, probate, JP, or municipal. The case may predate portal coverage. It may sit in a legacy system, belong to a non-integrated court, or be shielded from public display.

A docket may show while a document does not. Use the docket's document action, eDoc for County Clerk-held material, or a direct clerk request. For an old file, hand staff the approximate year, parties, case type, and court. Ask them to check the historical index. Unclear setting? Call the coordinator and the clerk. And never pull an unrelated county portal out of a broad web search.

A setting moved to another date. Check the newest entry.
Disposition

Restricted

How the Clerk Keeps Docket Records

Belinda Blassingame, the Mitchell County District Clerk, keeps the records of the 32nd District Court. She also keeps district-concurrent matters assigned to that office. County Court files take the County Clerk route. So do probate matters and other assigned records. The current County Clerk and eDoc pages cover those records and contacts. Names shift, so check first. The current eDoc page lists Janine Lemons. A May 2025 OCA verification names Carla Kern. Confirm the office holder and the preferred email before a formal docket request goes out under a name.

The County Clerk page lays out the records links and contact route.

Mitchell County Filing Systems

eFileTexas handles electronic filing for covered Texas courts. It is not a public archive of every concluded case. Attorneys generally must e-file in covered trial courts. Self-represented filers may use it where permitted. Remember what a receipt proves. A filing acceptance shows a submission event only. It proves no certified judgment, and it is not a complete Mitchell County docket.

The District Clerk page links the filing system and official court resources.

Give each tool its own job. eFileTexas submits an allowed filing; re:SearchTX surfaces public case or hearing data; the clerk holds the official file and certifications. Keeping those roles straight stops a filing portal from being mistaken for a public docket archive.

Mitchell County Docket Copy Costs

The 2026 civil-fee sheet puts non-certified papers at $1 per page. Certified copies add a $5 clerk's certificate. That sits on top of the $1 per page. Two other line items appear there as well. One is $2 for a judge's signature on an existing-case order. The other is $4 for issuing a citation or copy. Those are separate services. Ask before they get bundled into every docket copy request.

The county posts no flat price for exemplification, transcripts, historical retrieval, or eDoc documents. Request a written quote. A transcript comes from the court reporter, not from a routine docket-copy order.

Mitchell County Justice Dockets

Justice-court records stay with the issuing JP. Mitchell County groups Precincts 1 and 4 at (325) 728-8906. Precincts 2 and 3 sit together at (325) 728-5162. The page offers citation-payment links, alternate-payment details, and inquiry forms, but no general public JP docket search. Ask the court directly for current case status, setting, and copy procedure.

The official Mitchell County JP page shows both precinct contacts.

A payment vendor is not a docket. Small claims, evictions, debt matters, and citations can all start at this level in Mitchell County. Match the case paper or issuing precinct to the right office.

City-by-City Court Dockets in Mitchell County

Three incorporated places appear on the current Census/TIGER list for Mitchell County, not five. The 2020 Census gives a clean vintage for the city cards. Colorado City counted 3,991 residents, Loraine 504, and Westbrook 201. But a city limit line does not decide which docket holds a case. The charge matters, and so does the issuing agency. A city address may land in a JP court. It may also land in the County Court or the District Court instead.

Colorado City Court Records

3,991 in the 2020 Census. The Municipal Court publishes Class C jurisdiction, payment, plea, and a ten-day record-search procedure.

Loraine Court Records

504 in the 2020 Census. OCA lists a municipal contact, but no current public docket portal was found.

Westbrook Court Records

201 in the 2020 Census. No current official municipal docket portal was located, so start with the issuing court.

In Colorado City, the municipal search reaches only citations written by its Police Department, Code Enforcement, or Animal Control. Results may take ten days. Loraine's OCA directory entry carries a 2023 date, so confirm it before relying on it. Westbrook is simpler: read the citation and call the court or agency it names. None of these city routes replaces the county clerks. For true county or district court records, go to those clerks.
